Simon is a fictional AI tarot host represented by a generated scene. Simon’s scene is based on a supplied reference photograph. This is a character avatar, not live video or a reading from the person pictured. Simon’s scene includes a short looped hand-shuffling animation and gently moving candlelight; his face remains a still portrait. You can pause the scene, and reduced-motion device settings are respected. The welcome and card ritual use written dialogue; chat uses OpenAI to generate replies based on your messages and revealed cards. Simon does not contact spirits or know hidden things about you.

The server randomly shuffles all 78 tarot cards and draws one, three or ten different cards, upright, depending on your chosen spread. Choose Brief, Standard or In-depth explanations independently of the card count. The written explanations consider your topic and each card’s position, and the chat can explore your question further. Reflection questions help you explore your own interpretation; your answers are not used as evidence of psychic ability.

Once you draw cards, your reading and conversation are saved to your signed-in account so you can reopen them in My Readings. When you send a chat message, your name, question, recent conversation and revealed cards are sent to the site’s server and OpenAI to generate a reply. Saved readings are private to your account. Signing in also creates a Moonlit customer record with the name and email shared by your sign-in. You can edit your name in My account. Email offers are optional and require a separate, unticked opt-in; we record the choice, wording version and time. You can withdraw in My account or through an unsubscribe link. Only the site owner can export the opted-in offers list, which contains contact details and consent information, not birthdays or reading conversations. No marketing emails are sent automatically by the reading service. A temporary copy of a drawn reading is also kept in this browser tab for up to 24 hours, so it can survive a refresh or signing in. Starting a new sitting clears that temporary copy. API responses are requested without response storage; provider processing and retention policies still apply. New readings require sign-in. Your first one-card reading is free once per authenticated sign-in email; further readings are priced at £1.99 for one card, £2.99 for three and £5.99 for ten. We keep a fingerprint of the email and an account-level claim to record the free offer. Payment is handled by Stripe when checkout is available; card details are not entered on Moonlit. Purchased cards unlock after a verified payment confirmation. A full date of birth is required to start a new reading. It is saved privately with your reading and sent to OpenAI as personal context when you use the chat. Your birthday suggests a star sign, which you can confirm or change before today’s reflection. The suggested sign uses conventional day-and-month ranges; the year validates the full date, not an exact natal chart. Your confirmed star sign is kept separately and can differ from that suggestion. These date ranges are approximate near sign changes. Only share what you are comfortable sending. A downloaded reading is saved only when you choose. The optional microphone uses your browser’s speech recognition service, which may send audio to its provider for processing. It only listens after you tap Talk and allow access. You can check and edit the recognised text before sending it to the AI reader. Daily star-sign reflections are generated for the date in your device’s time zone, using symbolic themes; they are not a live astrology feed or a calculation of planetary positions. Optional voice is AI generated, using a stock voice rather than the voice of the person pictured. When voice is on, the text being read is sent to OpenAI to create speech.
